National Conference - 2014

This conference invited the participation of personnel associated with the roadways, railways and tourism sectors. It's aim was at sharing the wisdom and experience of applied spirituality for strengthening the foundations of these service sectors.
The theme for this year was "Speed, Safety, Spirituality". In the journey of life, speed is an important measure of power and success today. But in the pursuit of speed, if safety of life, ethics or harmony is compromised, it questions the very purpose of our efforts.

This conference helped participants learn the art of alert relaxation and also discover the powerful resources that lie within our own inner consciousness. The pure and peaceful environment of Shantivan campus fostered a very natural process of learning and progress.

Gyan Sarovar (Mt Abu). Dadi Ratanmohini, Joint Administrative Head of
Brahma Kumaris shared that success in life can be achieved easily by exploring spirituality and knowledge in the right direction. Addressing at the inaugural ceremony of the National Seminar 'Speed, Safety, Spirituality' on 18th July 2014, she said that negative thinking can trigger anger and violence, while a subtle shift in our thoughts will be the harbinger of efficient work, harmonious relations and a contented lifestyle. Dadi expressed that the seminar would help build harmonious relationships, re-discover the joy of human values at work and help the participants to face the challenges of life.
The seminar was organised by the Transport and Travel Wing of RajYoga Education and Research Foundation, a sister organization of the Brahma Kumaris. Around 800 delegates from road, rail and tourism sector participated in the conference.
The sessions of the seminar talked about behavioral changes, enhancing safety in driving and all forms of travel. They also clarified how spirituality can bring a sense of responsibility towards self and society at large. The whole focus of safety had a novel approach of supplementing external efforts with regular internal practice of stability and positivity through Meditation. The delegates were able to feel the value of life and that the contribution of every individual is important for the well being and welfare of a safe society.
Key speakers included Nitin Dossa, President - Western India Automobiles Association, Mumbai; Gagan Mohan Tripathy, Principal Head of Department - East Coast Railway, Bhubaneshwar; J.K. Verma, SDGM & Chief Vigilance Officer, East Central Railway, Hajipur and BK Divyaprabha, National Coordinator, Transport and Travel Wing, RERF.
Most of the key speakers witnessed a practical model of exemplary service while at this seminar. They came here seeking to know how spirituality could contribute to professional excellence. They emphasized that being in the service sector, one very important aspect for all of them to learn is to serve with a smile.
The seminar brought awareness among the participants that it is spirituality that can help them to remain calm, composed while performing multiple tasks. They had beautiful experiences during Meditation and showed willingness to connect with their local centers across India so that they can make spirituality a way of life.
